For iPad 2 owners who like to convert their tablet PCs into something like a netbook then check out CruxCase’s latest offering. The Crux Loaded is a hefty $249 iPad add-on which gives your iPad that laptop feel complete with a set of keyboard and a trackpad.

The Crux Loaded will not be available until Fall of this year but it sure has attracted a lot of attention particularly among gadget bloggers and enthusiasts. The keyboard and trackpad of the clamshell case can be used with your iPad via Bluetooth connectivity. And, as promised by CruxCase, users will retain all those native iOS controls like multi-touch, scrolling and resizing pictures.
The only difference is that users don’t need to lift their arms and touch the iPad’s display panel. There are other interesting features in the package including an external battery tucked inside the case that gives your iPad a 7.5 hour additional battery life. It also has the ability to remotely access another desktop PC using preferred software like LogMeIn Ignition, Jump Desktop, or Splashtop. The latter also explains why you’re seeing a Mac OS on the images. These remote-desktop program will be sold separately for $30 each.

Interested buyers need to be aware that the Crux Loaded’s launching still depends if Apple will open its Bluetooth iGate to these type of applications. Remember, Apple also has a successful laptop line and to allow such would mean another competitor. Stay tuned!
