Last year, I was one of those enthusiasts who are thinking how amazing Crysis 2 is going to be once it officially appears on the market. But that was so 2010 already, as you can see, after I’ve heard this game would only have a beta game available for Xbox 360 without even considering other consoles on this release, I believe something fishy is going around here. And yep, it appears today, the reviews from those beta-players who have played Crysis 2 said it was all “half-baked”.
I mean, sure! it looks great but to call it as extra-ordinary like the first Crysis would be too painful to do.

And perhaps, this is the reason why Crytek can’t simply say a yes or no answer when they were asked by some gaming insiders if there will be a Crysis 3 waiting in line for development? As its CEO Cevat Yerli said, everything depends on how the gamers like Crysis 2. Meaning, the company isn’t really sure what to expect about this game that’s supposed to come out as one of the most anticipated games for this year.
Here’s the excerpt:
“We definitely want to make Crysis 3,” said Yerli. “I’m not making a formal announcement. We’d like to make Crysis 3 but the second game needs to be successful first.”
“If it doesn’t meet our goals, for whatever reason, and doesn’t even break even, then there may not be a Crysis 3. But if it sells anywhere near what Black Ops has, there may be more from Crysis.”
Are we smelling the fear here that Crysis 2 won’t come out as a successful launch? Anyway, let’s see about that on its official release date on March 22 and 25 slated for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
