I’ve got to admit, I was a bit disappointed with Dell for not releasing something really spectacular for its Alienware series. As some of you may have remembered, last year saw the birth of the Alienware M11x and it was a love at first sight. For today, well, the company has provided us some updates for Alienware M17x. Not really the most bombastic news, but still quite cool, especially because they’ve included XPS 17 to the mix.

Coming hot from CES, Dell will release an upgraded series of Alienware M17x and XPS 17 packing with new 1080p panel that has a screen refresh rate of 120Hz and in addition to that, it will be 3D-ready perfect for NVIDIA’s new shutter glasses plus both device will be using Intel’s second-generation of Sandy processors – expect this one to be available up to Core-i7. Interestingly, Dell XPS 17 would be using GeFroce GT 55M for this upgrade.
Expect the price of both to start at 1,499 USD whereas the release date for the 3D-fied Alienware M17x would be on January 10 and February 1 for the all new XPS 17. I just hope that with this release, that old M17x ‘stutter problem’ would finally be resolved.
