Dell Company had started their project for their new tablet over a year ago, and now they proudly introduced their new line of product, the Dell Streak also known as Dell Mini 5. The company’s CEO, Michael Dell had confirmed their launch for the said tablet at the Citrix Synergy conference. The big boss also announced its released dates and other details about the voice-enabled handheld. It will first be available in Europe through O2 Telefonica and AT&T for US buyers later this summer.
Dell Streak is packed with a 5″ capacitive touch screen with multi-touch support and 800 X 480 pixels resolution, 5 MP autofocus camera with dual LED flash, 512 MB RAM, 1.6 GB Flash, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UMTS / GPRS / EDGE, HSDPA, expandable microSD up to 32 GB, and 5.6 (Wh) battery. The tablet is being run by QUALCOMM’s powerful and efficient Snapdragon chipset and software platform with integrated 1GHz processor joined with Android p[platform complete with Android market and Dell user interface enhancements. The tablet measures 152 x 78 x 10 mm and weighs 225 gm, light and small for one powerful device.
Other features for the tablet includes integrated Google Maps for easy pointing of directions and navigations, easily integrated social media applications with easier access to facebook, twitter and the like, high resolution camera and a VGA front facing camera, high storage capacity for access and download through the Google Android Market, Accelerometer, A-GPS (Internet Assisted) , Voice Capability, Webcam 0.3 Mp and a Mono speaker.
Dell Streak is really an on the go gadget for everyone, students, professionals with all its exciting features and browsing capabilities making it work just like a natural laptop. It will also support over-the-air updates like the update from Adobe Flash 10.2 to Android 2.2 later this year.
The company had said that Dell Streak will be Dell’s very first tablet and that it will be the star for a brand new range of tablets for The Carphone Warehouse. They even tagged Dell Streak as the tablet that would entice people to watch, surf connect, listen and play with power and portability.
