The French website LesDelliens.com gave some hint that Dell is about to release two new laptops in the market very soon. Apparently, these two new models belong to Dell’s XPS line up and will be called the Dell Studio XPS 15 and XPS 17 respectively. The Studio XPS line was especially created with the intention of satisfying customers who do not deal with performance.
These two new laptop models seem to be the successor of the XPS 13 and XPS 16 and are expected to be available starting November, 2010 in Europe. It seems to be a good timing to release these new laptops, as the holiday season begins and lots of consumers are expected to buy a new gadget as part of their holiday shopping list.
These upcoming Dell XPS laptops are said to be based on Intel’s Calpella platform and are both expected to be powered by an Intel Core processor with the top one being the Core i7 and NVIDIA graphics card and dual hard drives that comes with a maximum storage capacity of about 1.5TB.
The XPS 15 will sport a 15-inch screen and has up to 8GB of RAM and a maximum of 750 GB storage space while the XPS 17 on the other hand, comes better with a 17-inch screen and up to 16 GB of RAM, 1.2 TB via two HDDs and also comes with a 3GB of video memory.
In addition to the above-mentioned features, the XPS 15 and XPS 17 are also expected to carry the following specs:
- JBL speakers
- HDMI 1.4 port
- USB 3.0 port
- Wi-Fi connectivity
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Gigabit Ethernet
Dell has somewhat confirmed that these rumors about these two upcoming models are true. In fact, in a statement made by Dell it gave a hint that there is a strong possibility that these two rumored models will be marketed in the near future. Dell has referred these laptop models to be “great machines that are slim and sleek”.
Pricing details for these new Dell Studio XPS laptop models are still unknown as of the moment. For now, let us just wait for more information about these two upcoming laptops from Dell and see for ourselves what it has to offer.
