Looks like Dell is looking for a niche market for their smartphones. Heres some bit of news of the Dell XCD28 and Dell XCD35 being offered in the markets of India.

Dell has just presented the Dell XCD28 and Dell XCD35 and it is only bound for India at the moment with no news if it is going to be sold anywhere else in the world.
Here are some of the more important details:
XCD28
- Android 2.1
- 2.8-inch display (hence the name)
- 3.2 megapixel cam
- 200MB of internal storage
- MicroSD expandable up to 16GB
- 3G
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- FM radio
- Microsoft Email Exchange through Activesync
- Access to Android Market
- Sells for Rs. 10,990 ($247) without contract
- Already out now
XCD35
- Android 2.1
- 3.5-inch capacitive display
- 3G support for India’s up-and-coming high-speed networks
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- Sells for Rs. 16,990 ($382) without contract
- Will be available by December
Dell must be testing some waters right now with these phones since Android 2.1 and other smartphones are already in the market in South East Asia. If they really want to compete in the smartphone market with and re-branded Android capable handset, they have to step up their game.
