The Android community sure is keeping tabs as there is so much anticipation for the next smartphone to hit the market. Closely following and maintaining an eye on developments, it is no secret that the Droid Prime may well be on its way.

Just to enlighten us a bit, the Droid prime basically has the same specifications as the reported Nexus Prime from Google. First and foremost, this smartphone will be sporting the Android 4.0 or the so-called “ice cream sandwich.” Delicious as it may sound, the phone is a sure treat for would be owners as it will have a 4.5-inch panel that has a PenTile layout. It will also be having a Super AMOLED HD display capable of 720p. As for the processor which is responsible for running things around, it would be the 1.5GHz processor with the OMAP4460 chipset on it.
Reports circulating point that the Droid Prime will have no preloaded carrier on it. Taking into account strategy and viewing it from a marketing perspective could be the possible reason why Verizon let go in its lineup the Samsung Galaxy SII in order to offer the Google flagship Android handset (which by the way will also be designed by Samsung) that runs on the first ever “ice cream sandwich.”
To keep the excitement going for Android fans, the Droid Prime is slated to come by October.
