Lookie-lookie what do we have here? It appears we have another update for Droid X and nope! This isn’t about another mockery for its photoshoped ads but something that will make your hopes too up only to plummet when you hear the ending.

So apparently, some tech-pundits are claiming that Droid X will finally have the most anticipated Android 2.3 update only to find out that this Android 2.3.340 stock isn’t the Gingerbread update just yet. As some of you may already know, yesterday saw the official christening of Android 2.3 which was revealed to have its first launch as an OTA update for Nexus One. Obviously, many are wondering when will this Gingerbread treat be happening on their smartphone device as well?
As for the Droid X ‘oups’ Android 2.3 update, this one isn’t so bad as others may think it is. In fact, it has a set of nice features unique to almost all of the Droid phones that we do know like having a Madden NFL 11 pre-installed app, pre-installed Adobe Flash Player 10.1 (latest stock), a slightly tweked UI on the main screen and claims of a more stable Android Froyo platform. So far, you can download this one today via Verizon or just wait for the unknown release of Android 2.3 for your Droid X. The choice is yours.
