Quality and performance are measures for today’s projectors since these are the “keys” for true projection. The good thing is that there a new projector on the block designed to give movie addicts the true form of movies they enjoy and this is Digital Projection International’s (DPI) dVision Scope 1080p projector.

DPI’s new projector offers 2560×1080 display resolution. It makes sure that when HD content is showed, there are just about 2.75 million pixels of imagery. With its superb resolution, there is no more need for the so-called optical stretching thus it is able to deliver a 2.35:1 aspect ratio (this also ensures that displayed image is not distorted). Another feature of this device is that it eliminates the need for anamorphic lens thus switching from 1.78:1 to 2.35:1 aspect ratio has been made easier (it may be noted that anamorphic optics have an effect on brightness as well as aspect ratio of images projected).
One other feature worth mentioning is the projectors ability to detect “letterbox” black bars during scope content presentation and automatically re-size the image (to meet the height of the DMD which is at 1080p) thru increasing horizontal pixels. Lastly, the dVision Scope has a quick-change motorized lens mount on it which allows it to be suited to various locations with respect to screen.
The dVision Scope 1080p will be showcased by DPI in the upcoming CEDIA 2011 Expo this September.
