It’s all over the news just recently and has been the subject of a lot of blog sites. Have you heard about the rumor about Facebook’s allegedly cheat stories against search giant Google? If not yet, then you may be interested to know what has happened at how these rumors started. Basically, the rumor is pointing to one of the most popular social networking sites nowadays- Facebook to be doing something quite fishy against Google. Apparently, Facebook is being accused of paying a PR firm that will make some negative stories about Google and damage its reputation.
The PR firm that is being involved in this issue is none other than Burson Marsteller, which is considered one of the biggest PR firms in the industry. Apparently, Facebook paid this PR firm to do some sort of demolition job that will eventually damage the character of the latter and this will be done by planting some negative stories about Google. And what is ironic about the situation is the fact that all these bad stories that will be created against them were targeting privacy infringement upon its users, which is definitely the same issue that had been faced by Facebook a number of times in the past.
As far as Facebook is concerned, a spokesman from the said social networking site has confirmed that they really hired Burson, but not to damage its reputation. Apparently, there were two reasons why Facebook hired the services of this PR firm for two important reasons and these include clearing the issues about Google doing some things in social networking that raise some privacy issues and the one concerns about Facebook’s resentment on Google’s attempt to use Facebook data in its own social networking service.
It seems that Google and Facebook are having some sort of spy war that was made public. This may be brought about by the fact that Google is coming out with its own social networking site and believes that it would be difficult for them to penetrate the industry with the presence of the very popular Facebook. There are some rumors that Google aims to fight back with Facebook, but has not made any luck.
For now, let us just wait and see how this spy war between Facebook and Google will end and hope that all ends well.
