This could be one of the most senseless reasons for any person to die, hurt feelings after being “defriended” at Facebook. Yet, this seems to be the case when two persons were allegedly murdered after they defriended another at Facebook.
The crime took place last month when a Tennessee couple, Billy Clay Payne, Jr. and Billie Jean Hayworth were found dead with shots in the head and the man’s throat cut. The report provides that the couple deleted Jenelle Potter from the couple’s friend list, which incident was relayed to her father and the suspect Marvin Enoch “Buddy” Potter Jr, Jenelle’s father. The suspect was accompanied by another person identified as Jamie Lynn Curd when the crime was allegedly committed. The couple’s 8-month old child was also found in the crime scene but the child was alive and unharmed.
Jenelle was described to be between 20- 30 years old, lives with her parents and a regular Facebook user. The suspects were arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of first degree murder. Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece said that “It’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen,” He also said that he has seen murders, “….. but nothing like this. This is just senseless.”
Investigation is still ongoing if there are other reasons for the killing other than the Facebook incident. No charges were filed against Jennelle for now and court proceeding is set next week for a bond hearing while the preliminary hearing will be in March.
