Well, this has been a hot topic lately in many websites and blog sites. Apparently, this issue was brought about by a certain website called the weeklyworldnews.com who reported that Facebook will be shutting down on March 15, 2011.

Based on the said news report, Mark Zuckerberg, the man behind this very popular site is closing down the said site because it has gotten out of control and has caused his life to be stressful to the point that it has already ruined his life. However, the good news is that there is no truth to this rumor. Facebook will not be shutting down, so Facebook users out there need not worry about saving all your information or losing all your online friends.

It is not really that clear how this issue has started. But only one thing has been clear that the website weeklyworldnews.com is a fake one just like the website theonion.com. And if you will come to think of it, why will someone like Mark Zuckerberg be closing the website that brought him billions. Well, obviously even if there is no truth to this rumor, it has created some sort of hype all over the internet. This story has already gone far and even reaches the Huffington Post, an equally sensational periodical as the Weekly World News.

The source of all these issues, the Weekly World News is also a newspaper that is already non-operational. However, its blog site has been creating fake news since way before the Onion was conceived of. It may have caused the creation of some hype among Facebook users, but the fact remains that majority of these Facebook users was not convince that these rumors are true.

It is not clear whether Facebook will be taking any legal actions against the said website that started all these issues in order to have them penalized. So let us just wait for more updates.
