We cannot deny the fact that one of the major reasons behind the success of the social networking site Facebook is the game, Farmville. And with the recent trends of turning games into movies, reports about Farmville being adapted into a movie is not new at all. According to IGN, a Farmville flick will be coming very soon and this will be written by the writers behind the popular Toy Story movie, Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen. And apparently, the plan of making Farmville into a movie is already on the negotiation stage.
However, in spite of the rumors, the Farmville movie project has not been announced yet. And the writers did not even mentioned details about it at all. We didn’t even heard of any comment from Zynga, Farmville’s creator, as well. But this does not mean rumors are not true. We must understand that making a movie is not that easy. Aside from the fact that a huge investment is needed, there are also some factors that need to be considered first. And there are times that it is more practical to just make a remake of an existing movie that has millions of fans than making a new one.
With all these rumors about a Farmville movie, you might be interested to know whether how a Farmville movie would look like. Well, of course we can expect a movie that comes with computer animated features which usually in 3D format and the integration of the graphics and team featured in a Facebook game. However, since this Facebook game is about planting, some people might expect that it could also become very boring (zzzzz).
Additionally, there were also other Facebook games like Mafia Wars that is being planned to turn into movies. Both of these have millions of fans/players worldwide that would end up as its loyal patrons, if the movie adaptation push through. Moreover, the success of either one would probably entice filmmakers to create social networking-based movies. Who knows?
