FIC SVE00 Netbook didn’t impress us much.
FIC has launched a new netbook ‘boasting’ a Pinetrail platform, oh well I guess this is the highlight of this device (the inside will only be the one that might interest you). As you may have observed almost all of the netbook and laptops have been infused with the same chip set basically to improve battery life, energy efficiency and weight of a device. So do you think that this netbook is worth your moolah?
If you would ask me I would say a big NO! Unless you plan to give it to your son/daughter who has been acing all her subjects in school and I mean kids on their teen years, alright? Yes you heard me right, this gadget is (I believe) designed for a kid/teens use. See the picture down there? If you were to buy a netbook, would this be (even) part of your top 5?
No pun intended to FIC, but this craft is not so brilliant after all. Why? I bet you would agree with my explanation, first why would I settle for a netbook that looks like it was inspired by toddlers specially if it’s closed (please check the picture).
Second, I don’t think it’s even worth spending money creating a netbook that can be considered as conventional. We all know that almost all the PC today is made of Pinetrail and Pineview with atom N450 on them, so what is so new with FIC’s SVE00? Nothing! There is no new spark to buzz about and nothing interesting to blow our minds.
This is a netbook that no one will even notice, unless this will cost around $ 280-$300 then maybe this can still steal the scene from all other netbook available in the market. As we all know everybody is on a tight budget and if there is a need for a device like this no matter how dull and uninteresting the outside looks like, you would actually set your criticizing eyes aside and think of the brighter side. You would think of the performance and what can a netbook do!
