The Final Fantasy series from Square Enix has been one of the franchises that players are always looking forward to, especially when they plan to come out of another series. Now, producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Hajime Tabata have just announced a new FF series called “Final Fantasy Versus XIII”, which is part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy compilation. It is an independent story from the XIII series involving Lightning even though it takes place in her universe and time, so it has different characters and visual design.
The game is about Noctis Lucis Caelum who is the protagonist and the last heir of a dynasty that rules the on;y remaining city that controls crystals. When a group called the Maruaders seeks to get the crystal for their own. Noctis stands up to fight against them.
In terms of gameplay, there is no full information about it except with an interview with director Tetsuya Nomura saying that the battle system will be similar and derived from Kingdom Hearts and will have third-person shooter aspects. Plus, the game will be darker and bleaker in contrast to previous FF games. And also, Nomura wanted to make the game more realistic and true enough, in the trailer, there was a more graphic version og violence and blood that was never seen in the past installments.
It will also feature tricky battle scenes which will take place in all parts of the world and environment. The map can also be traversable through different transportations. It also shows modern technology and transportation, which emphsizes more about the realism of the game.
Indeed, this is a game that players will look forward to, especially when it is based more on reality than fanstasy. There is still no release date for this game but it will be PS3 exclusive.
