We cannot deny the fact that Final Fantasy is one of the best video game series ever released in the gaming market today. Well, it seems that the people behind the Final Fantasy series is committed to provide extensive coverage on the entire series. It comes with the latest installment which will be called Final Fantasy XIII-2.
For those who have not heard of this game yet, the Final Fantasy XIII-2 is the direct sequel of the 2009 role playing game entitled Final Fantasy XIII. It will be published by Square Enix and is currently under development by the company’s production department. Apparently, this game aims to target consoles like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The story of the Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be set five years after the events of the Final Fantasy XIII where the protagonist Lightning has disappeared into an unknown world. Lightning’s younger sister named Serah Farron and a young boy named Noel Kreiss, will be on a mission to rescue Lightning. The principal setting of the game will be a little different from the original game, though some elements from the previous installment were retained. For sure, gamers will recognize some similarities.
Additionally, the Final Fantasy XIII-2 will also feature a further evolution of the Command Synergy Battle and Paradigm Shift systems, which was first used in the original game. It will also come with a feature that will allow its players to control the difficulty of the battles and will also fix and address the issues raised on the previous installments of the game and improve some of the areas and make it even better.
And just like the Mass Effect series, the players of this game will be presented with a series of dialogue trees. This offers its players a lot of options to go about playing the game. However, it is important to take note that the player’s choice will have some effect and alter the game drastically. In addition to this, the game will also come with a new system called anomaly system. Basically, this system will present players with puzzle-like problems that will make the game more exciting.
The Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be released in Japan in December and will also hit North America and Europe by 2012. As mentioned, it will be released for the PS3 and 360 consoles however there is also an ongoing rumor that there are plans of bringing this upcoming game to Wii U. So watch out for it.
