A lot of gadget makers have been launching new innovation from OS to chipset, from hardware to software everything gets a new look and a new system to sport and welcome the year 2010. What is this we are hearing? That Mozilla doesn’t want to be left behind. That is why they’re launching a new version of Firefox! The latter is true, I just don’t know whether the 1st one is. But whatever their reason for launching the new Firefox 4.0, I’m still pretty excited to see what it can do!
It has been spreading around the net that the browser will have a facelift! Yes, a facelift with new tabs, Mozilla has 2 designs that they’re thinking of and that is whether the tabs should be on the same spot where it’s currently at or exchange it to where the address bar is located at the present.
Plus an intriguing all in one button, this button is the one we see as the go button (green button at the end of the address bar) but with the Firefox 4.0 its not just your ordinary Go button, it will also be your Refresh and Stop button! It changes color depending on the process being done by the browser. Here is a picture and a clear view of what I am talking about.
That’s how the new all-in-one button should look like as you can see there’s a loading tube just below the address bar, this indicates the progress of the download. Now if you are asking if it’s any faster or what makes it better than the previous browser from Firefox, There is no official speed or any details about the performance of this browser, Chris Beard (VP Mozilla Lab) said that they are working on Firefox 4 so hard that you it wont have any resemblance with it predecessor. Chris Beard claims that Firefox 3 should undergo a major renovation since it has been in the mainstream for 10 years, and he believes that it’s about time they make a change!
What’s more Beard plans to have the Firefox 4 be as one with the user’s computer and OS plus be more dedicated to staying connected faster and more efficiently! The bottom line is Firefox 4 will be something Superior and to be in one with all your applications. Currently Mozilla is working their best to break through the conventional browser everyone has been using, the name of the 2 projects are Prism and Weave.
