Earlier today, we receive a confirmation that users can now publicly download Firefox 8 via Mozilla’s FTP servers. For those who are unaware, the one you’re getting on this link is similar to the official one, it just so happen that Mozilla need to push its official launch on its site a little later and for this case, it will happen on November 8.
Naturally, the installation pack supports Mac or Windows machines and if you are following Firefox’s release, its previous version (7) only arrived on September. Obviously, those who haven’t upgraded their browser yet from the old Firefox 4.0 are wondering why the sudden rapid release?
Actually, we covered this topic a couple of months ago and one of the main reason for this is, Mozilla needs to cope up with the new kid on the block – Chrome – which is obviously beating the fiery browser to the ground after only three years from its public announcement.
Going back to Firefox 8, we have installed it on our machine and so far, we haven’t received any problems although it’s noticeable that downloading it via FTP is a little bit slower than the conventional means. Likewise, in case you face any bugs or issues while installing Firefox’s latest version, feel free to hit us with your comments.
