Now this is something really new and an avant-garde move from Nokia.
As some of you may already know, Nokia is facing a crisis of trying to persuade, convince and entice its old Symbian developers to stick with the company for its transition with the Windows Phone 7 platform. Obviously, the company is doing everything they can to avoid their developers from leaving them behind. But in case that happens, N has a good strategy on sticking with its gameplan. How? By inviting fresh developers for the launch of its Nokia WP7 devices — soon!

Coming from an insider tipster, Nokia’s Launchpad letter to developers was unearthed whereas for the first time in the history of the company, they decided to unleash this program entirely for free once your application got approved!
For those who aren’t familiar, Launchpad is an annual mobile app development program by Nokia which normally cost 300 euros but because of the changes on the platform of the company, they would be changing the mechanics for this one hoping to attract some budding developers.
But that’s not all! As you can see, developers who were chosen will receive 1000-dollar worth of free hardware goodies from Nokia such as the E7 smartphone device and a Nokia WP7 unit as soon as it’s unleashed on our world. Interestingly, the company is also offering some free tickets to Nokia World and its developer summit, three month free tech support with all Nokia technologies and free user experience evaluation (limited to one application).
I know the decision of Nokia’s new CEO Stephen Elop takes a lot of guts and heartaches with his employees but it appears he’s already knowing the tools of the trade quite early!
