We’ve discovered a new slide-out tablet that can go head to head with the Samsung Sliding PC 7. The fresh convertible tablet comes from Japan-based company, Fujitsu, called TH40/D.

The Fujitsu TH40/D tablet will be part of the FMV product line-up that will be released in Japan this summer. Specifically, the TH40/D is a real contender for Sammy’s slide-out tablet. It sports a 1.5GHz Intel Oak Trail Atom Z670 cpu, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 10.1 inch touchscreen display (with 1024 x 600 resolution) and 120 GB HDD. For its connectivity and peripherals, the FMV tablet boasts its 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, SD card slot and an optical trackpad.

The Fujitsu TH40/D is powered by Windows 7 platform and could last up to 6 hours of usage. It is also noteworthy to check its chic design and look with the combination of Aluminum Chassis and Black Frame. The tablet PC is also suitable for ladies with its thin and lightweight design. It only has 17.4mm thickness and weighs 1.1 Kg.
The new Fujitsu TH40/D with slide-out keyboard will be released in Japan this coming June for 80,000 Yen ($990). No words if it will be launched internationally. Looking at the TH40/D’s features and price details, it seems that Sammy’s Sliding PC 7 still has the upper hand. The latter has 2GB memory, higher resolution, SSD drive, rear and front-facing camera and a cheaper price at just 650 bucks. Plus, you don’t have to fly to Japan to get one!
