Due to unprecedented compatibility issues with Verizon’s 4G LTE network, Galaxy Nexus’ previously announced December 9th released date had been deferred. Tech pundits around have been searching online and contacting Verizon for a possible launch date of Galaxy Nexus but the network is keeping mum about the details.

For today’s juice, an insider report popped out from the blogosphere claiming about a concrete information about the handset’s launch date. Allegedly, a second-party Verizon retailer – who had the handset in stock but couldn’t sell it due to Verizon’s restrictions – contacted a Verizon representative to confirm when they could (retailer) sell the LTE Galaxy Nexus units. Verizon responded that they could do so on December 15th.
This information is still unconfirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt. Visiting Verizon’s site by the way, still welcomes you with “launch date is coming soon” while contacting a Verizon personnel, by yourself, to confirm the reported release date would be impossible – they’re all tight-lipped about it.
Perhaps, Verizon is carefully checking all the bugs that could annoy its patrons – which is a good thing. Aside from LTE network issue, you might remember about those UK Galaxy Nexus owners who reported about the annoying volume glitch on their handsets. Hopefully, everything would be resolved once Big Red launches the handset in the US. Stay tuned.

everyone should boycott verizon. phone companies will see their phones are not selling through verizon and they’ll switch to a more compentant and cheaper carrier. all future launches will be on time and with it’s intended apps preloaded and bootloader unlocked. internet/tv/phone customers should also boycott and choose another provider that doesn’t want to destroy net neutrality. then verizon goes out of business and is bought out by some other carrier and we have world peace, second coming of christ and avoid armageddon in 2012 and global warming will fix itself.
