Let’s face it; Flash games are the norm and source of viral and addicting games for desktop for the past couple of years. But alas! Everything changed when Apple release its first iPad quashing any support for this platform and introducing the world of HTML5 for developers.
Naturally, the latter is getting more popular now and admit it or not, it works faster on mobile and tablets unlike Flash; but you can’t also deny the annoyance of not being able to play some of the most popular games on Facebook like CafeWorld, Cityville, etc. because of this lack of support.
Well good news today as a new app is born called as GameBox and it has only one purpose, that is to let iPad users play all Facebook games they want on the tablet with a near desktop experience. How? It works similarly like Gaikai or other cloud-based rendering platform that puts all the tedious flash-calculation on its cloud server and its raw output will be delivered on the tablet so everything will be rendered smoothly. Naturally, this may produce some quirky lags for some since this service requires a good internet connection but so far, if you’re wondering the easiest way to play CityVille or Digital Chocolate’s Army on iPad — this might be it! Take note, its tag price is $2.99 and the only games available are the two that I have mentioned.
