There’s no doubt that some may not find toughbooks to look beautiful under its blob body but one should realize that these type of laptops aren’t made to ramp on the catwalk but rather, on the most extreme conditions you can possibly think of. And some might find this one interesting, especially for our soldiers who are located on desert fields or under the worst climate condition possible.

As of today, GammaTech managed to reveal its latest creation under the form of a convertible laptop designed specifically for ‘people on the go’. This D12c is made from strong rugged materials and it can easily transform from laptop into a tablet PC. It features a drop and shock resistant body and passed the stringent MIL-STD-810G requirements. As for its specifications, it looks tough as well packing with an Intel Core i5-540 UM processor w/ Intel HM55 chipset. Its RAM is set to run up to 8GB of memory capacity all under a 12.1 inch convertible TFT whereas it has an LED backlit touchscreen display perfect when you want to use it as a tablet PC. Other goodies include HD audio, 1.3 MP built-in web camera, WiFi / Bluetooth support. It also has a fingerprint scanner and TPM 1.2 technology whereas you can get an optional smart card reader if you want to customize it even further.
The GammaTech D12C is already available on its website or other retailers on USA and its price will depend on how you tweak it towards your preferences.
