Finally, a convertible laptop made for the rugged, the adventurous and the clumsy. While some manufacturers design laptops that keeps on getting thin with every innovation, GammaTech on the other hand jumped on the other side of the fence by conceptualizing a laptop that was “built tough, built to last”. And by the looks of it, a Panzer Tank can’t even afford to shake this baby.

GammaTech’s Durabook R13C stands proud among other laptops with its nearly indestructible design and specifications. It can withstand the harshest of conditions the real world can throw at it: dust resistant input and output ports, drop, shock and spill proof and a magnesium alloy case that’s 20 times stronger than your ordinary ABS plastic. It even has a Military Standard 810G certification under its name – a freaky emblem that the Durabook R13C is beyond competition.
Specification wise, the Durabook R13C is just as heavy as its external properties: fingerprint scanner, Smart Card socket, a 13.3 inch multi-touch, waterproof Wide Active Matrix LCD monitor that’s readable even when exposed to sunlight, Intel Core i7 processor, Wireless WiFi Link 6200, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator and 8GB worth of RAM. A shock mounted SATA drive with heater, multi DVD drive, and an SD card reader completes the Durabook R13C’s portfolio – ideal for anyone who thinks conventional laptops are way too fancy for their lifestyle.
Release date has yet to be announced by GammaTech, but there’s a big SOON to the Durabook R13C.
