We cannot deny the fact that social networking sites such as Facebook has opened a lot of opportunities to all its users from anywhere in the world. It has helped a lot of people to get connected with each other regardless of distance, find old friends, find new friends, share photos and videos and a lot more. However, since Facebook also shows your personal information to others, it is quite inevitable that there will be some hackers out there who will take advantage of this opportunity and do their thing.

And just recently another hacking incident involving the social networking site Facebook has been discovered. As reported, a 23-year old guy from California named George Bronk has been charged with stealing e-mail accounts of many Facebook users through their Facebook profiles and stealing nude pictures of these women and sometimes even blackmails them. In fact, one victim even treated it as some sort of virtual rape.
What George Bronk has done is pretty nasty. So how does he do it? Well, most of the time he targets those female Facebook users that have made their e-mail addresses public and even browse on all the information that he can get on their Facebook profile and wall posts in order to get an idea and be able to answer the security question and open their e-mail account. Once the e-mail is opened he will now browse on the sent folder and look for nude photos or videos and send it to the woman’s entire contact list just for fun. There are also some incidents where he threatens some women asking them to send more nude photos and if they will not, their nude photos in his possession will be made public.
Well, it is a good thing to know that George Bronk was already arrested. Apparently, the police have found more than 170 nude photos of different women in his possession when he was captured. George Bronk has pleaded guilty before the Sacramento Superior Court as he faced seven felony charges that include computer intrusion, impersonation and possession of child pornography. Because of this charges he will be facing six years of imprisonment.
Social networking sites like Facebook may bring us a lot of benefits as far as our social life is concerned, but always remember that we should also be a responsible user and see to it that our personal information are well-protected so that it will not fall into the wrong hands.
