Have you tried using Google Docs? Basically, this service allows users to create and share your work online as well as access your documents anywhere you are. This is definitely some good news for Google users out there especially for those users that have been clamoring for a proper Google docs app for quite some time now. After only a matter of time, Google has finally granted our requests and put an official app in the Android Market. Let us take a closer look at this new application.

Basically, this new app focuses on making the task of locating and managing documents easier through filters, collections and starred content. In addition to this, the app also comes with a widget that allows a one-click access to create documents, jump to your starred documents and upload photos as well.

If there is one feature that the Google Docs for Android does not have, it is the so-called native document editing. If you want to edit a document, the app will bring you to its mobile editing interface that is within the browser. Google did not come up with this feature because the company did not find this feature to be really essential.

However, this new app has also managed to get the attention of many users because of its photo-to-text capabilities that allow its users to take pictures of a document that is on your desk and upload it to the Google Docs Android app. This is through using the so-called Optical Character Recognition (OCR) that will turn the photo into editable text.

Nevertheless, Google also warns its users that this app is not capable of recognizing handwriting, so turning your calligraphy is not really possible at the moment. Well, since this application is available for free, we really have nothing to lose in trying this new app. So if you are one of those people who regularly use Google Docs, then try this new application and see for yourselves what it has to offer.
