Here is another new offer from Google, it’s the all new Google Drive. And the good thing about it is that it has been already confirmed to be coming really soon. This service is not actually a rumor since it has been an existing product since 2007, but it may not be given much attention and only used by Google internally. That is why Google is trying to relive it nowadays and give it some time in order to make it more functional and reach out more users. This new version is expected to be bigger and better as compared with the previous version.
Google Drive is basically the new name for the Google Docs Homepage that will apparently bring more free storage, file syncing apps for mobile and desktop as well as integration with third party apps. This seems to be a great timing for Google to come up with this kind of application especially knowing the fact that only a few people are using Google docs for online storage – which could be attributable to the fact that they are not well informed about it. Changing its name to Google Drive might help in doing so.
In addition to this, there will also be a new “My Google Drive” area for the various folders in Google Drive. This will surely help in organizing your files and documents even better. Other Drive-specific tools will also be present as well. Apparently, there will also be a syncing software that can be readily installed in various computers and mobile devices as well. And so, we can expect that the G-Drive or Google Drive will be back from the dead.
At present, there is no timetable yet as to the release of the Google Drive, but we can expect it to happen really soon. Google might be waiting for the Ice Cream Sandwich, which apparently is the newest version of Google’s Android, due by next month. As of now, it is not clear yet how doc.google.com will be used and how the Google Drive is going to affect it. So watch out for more updates.
