Google has just released an updated version of Google Earth, which apparently is Google Earth 6. This only show that as more people use the Google Earth service, the more it pushes Google to make it more improved and advanced. With this latest version, Google is trying to get it dangerously close to how the Earth actually looks as it comes with new features that are quite humorous in nature. If you will remember the past updates made by Google on Google Earth; the version 4 brought us the sky, version 5 on the other hand has brought the seas and oceans and this time on its 6th version Google is trying to bring trees to be more realistic than ever.

At a first look, the latest version seems to be the best version yet since the trees are obviously one of the most important parts of the Earth. Aside from these 3D trees, the Google Earth version 6 also incorporated a more seamless Street view experience. Street view is now fully integrated with the said service so all you have to do is simply zoom in and you will be able to see 360-degree street-level images automatically.
In addition to this, the orange icon used to navigate Street View called pegman has now been docked alongside the Google Earth navigation controls as well. This will facilitate a more convenient and easy navigation as you can now seamlessly move from one location to another just like walking down the street with the use of the scroll wheel from your mouse or the arrow keys in your keyboard.
Also in this version is a new-access method for pulling up historical imagery. This feature was already present in version 5, but not that easy to find. But with the version 6 it would be easier to discover these historical images as you will be able to see it at the bottom of your screen whenever it is available. So when you fly on a certain area where historical imagery is available, the date of the oldest imagery appears at your status bar and all you have to do is simply click this and it will bring you back to that period of time in order to view such imagery.
The latest version of the Google Earth is now available on the Google Earth site, so try it now and tell us what your opinion is on this new Google Earth version.
