There were some ongoing rumors that Google is apparently working on a new social networking site project the bears the codename “Emerald Sea.” This application was initially known as “Google Me” but apparently it will be released using a different name when it rolls out by next year. Google aims to target the social networking world that is dominated by Facebook.
At present, Google is already in the process of internal testing this product that they are calling Emerald City. This project has been integrated with various products like Youtube, Google Docs, search, calendar, groups, picassa, etc. Apparently, this is an ongoing project and it will be launch as a major initiative across the many services being offered by Google which all have some good amount of social integration within it.
In addition to this, there is also a question and answer information posted about the said new product from Google to Google Baraza. Well, if you are not that familiar with what Baraza is, then it is a service that was recently launched by Google last October. This is actually a service that was primarily intended to for use in Africa to bring a more relevant source of information online. And even it was primarily intended for Africa only, obviously others are also using it as well thus, making it a universal Google Q&A Service.
And because some people like Quora are using Baraza, it may be quite significant to post some relevant information about this upcoming social networking hub. Some people also think that Google might be preparing for a Quora competitor in addition to the rumor that it is also undergoing some internal test against its new site called the Emerald City.
Google remains silent about these issues about them. But some analysts are pretty sure that Google is definitely working on a project that has something to do with social networking. Will it be the rumored Facebook killer from Google? Well, information about this upcoming application is very limited as of present, but knowing Google’s reputation when it comes to various applications and products, surely this upcoming social networking project is something to look forward to.
