Ah yes, the excitement of a rare-find that envelopes the majority when all things are still uncertain. What the heck are we talking about? Well its none other than the Google Phone! First, let us make it clear that this is not your T-mobile G1 phone which also had a pseudoname ‘google phone’ release last October, 2008. Although, it’s powered by Android and has some nice-package of lineaments, it still wasn’t enough to be hailed on the ever changing ‘tech-market’ as a superior smartphone. If you failed to see the specs of the G1 release just see these videos.
And another ‘mini-tour’ from Eric of HTC (T-mobile labs):
Okay ‘nuff of the past, people are here for the future. Now look what we have here? Another ‘Google Phone is a certainty’ rant coming your way, but this time the speculations are getting louder, though the specs, the pictures or any physical evidence of it existence is not yet disclosed to any humans outside BIG G’s tech-geek team, a new finding unfolds recently today.

Techcrunch manages to salvage a tweet (they always do) from a cnet podcaster named Jason Howell: Oh keep in mind that his avatar pic has nothing to do with his job on cnet okay?
”Capacitive touch screen and on screen keyboard only, yes. Re: AT&T, it was unlocked. Dude just put an AT&T sim in it 2 test it.”
–”It was thin. Dare I say as if not a bit thinner than iPhone. Scrolly ball like on the hero. This one was running on AT&T. #googlephone”
–”Wasn’t able to gander @ h/w specs unfortunately. Supposedly, Google employees were given tons of these phones today. unlocked. #googlephone”
–”Supposedly we should start hearing a lot about the new Google phone over the next few days. Its slick in an HTC hero sorta way.”
–”The new Google Phone runs on HTC hardware. I saw it w/ Android 2.1. Homescreen has new visual enhancements like animated desktop wallpaper.”
–”…I just had my hands on the Google Phone. I feel so priveleged!”
FYI: For our viewers who are asking what ZOMG means, It’s a meme, just check this out,
And oh, another one from Leslie Hawthorn, Product Manager – Google’s Open Source Team.
“Stuck in mass of traffic leaving work post last all hands of 2009. ZOMG we had fireworks and we all got the new Google phone. It’s beautiful”
Grr! Goog team surely do know how to make the people excited, don’t they?
Along the excitement comes the ‘predictions’. You gotta love the tech-blogosphere for this one. One of the best bet came from TC:
It’s an HTC phone – probably the Passion, a distant cousin to the beautiful HD2 – with large touchscreen. It’s GSM unlocked and everyone at Google has one so whatever the super secret specs are, they won’t stay super secret for long.
And another one from engadget. Apparently the device is running Android 2.1, is unlocked and AT&T-ready. (no word on 3G status, but this could line up with our speculation about this being the carrier’s first Android phone), and will be due sometime in January.
Hopefully, the latter prediction won’t come true… AT&T? Of all the carrier why that dead-last network provider that’s known to have a lame bout with RED V for the best 3G service in USA?
We will keep you guys posted on who’s bet reigns supreme in this another chapter of Google domination.
