At the recently finished Google financial call for its second quarter, its Co-Founder and heralded CEO Larry Page bring in the good news. And if you’re expecting he’ll throw away some real numbers about the count of netizens using Google+, your hunch is correct!

But before we get into that, it was predicted by Paul Allen last week the number of users for Google Plus has already hit 10 million and it’s expected to propel up to 20 million plus next week. Well, it appears his metrics are accurate enough since Page confirmed G+ now has 10 million users and up to 1 billion items are shared everyday.
Compared to Facebook which now has 750 million + users or Twitter that flocked by tons of celebrities around the world, G+ is still pretty small but considering it’s only about to reach the end of its second week in beta, gaining millions of users engaged and sharing links with one another is truly a remarkable feat.
Interestingy, the CEO hinted the company’s approach with Google Plus is like a potential service they might use in the future. You see, as of today, Google’s primary income still rely on Advertising (yep, the Adsense / Adwords combo); although it’s obvious Android, Chrome and Google+ are its hidden gems which can be used by the company “in the long run”.
Still, the official release date for G+ is “coming soon”.
