If you’re an Adsense publisher, you do know that for the past couple of weeks, there’s that opt-in checkbox located after you log-in with your account asking if you want to install the Google+1 button on your site. At that time, publishers don’t have any idea what this would do but it appears today, we have a clearer picture about its real purpose.
As recently revealed by the company, all of its ads will give option for users to +1 it whereas the button will appear if you hover on the ad unit. Naturally, the intention of this update sounds lucrative for Adwords advertisers since if a particular user plus your advertisement, there’s a chance her friends will be able to see it when they visit a particular site running adsense. Theoretically, this brings more engagement and the possibility of more people to click on the ads since it was recommended by someone they do know.
So far, this is the first time we’ve heard how Google+1 button is integrated on Google ads. For those who are unaware, it was talked about a lot in our previous report the relevance of this button as one of the signals verifying the quality of your site, giving it an advantage in terms of SEO ranking; although this one is still debatable up to now.
So do you think adding of Google+1 button on Google ads bring more clicks or will it produce more nuisance in the perspective of a user?
