GoPro has recently announced its GoPro 3D Hero expansion system that works hand in hand with its current HD Hero camera unit. The good news is that, with this peripheral, photography enthusiasts would now be able to utilize their current HD Hero camera to capture 3D images!

The GoPro 3D Hero is an expansion kit that works with the current Full-HD (1080p) HD Hero camera. By using this kit, users can easily connect two HD Hero camera and transform it into a 1080p high definition 3D camera system. The company claims that the GoPro 3D Hero is a first in the industry aside from being the smallest and least expensive full-HD 3D shooter.
Included in the 3D Hero System package is a waterproof housing that enables the camera to withstand being submerged in water (up to 180 feet).The camera’s modular design is also very compact measuring only 5 by 2.5 inches. What’s more, GoPro’s acquisition of CineForm is great timing since purchasing the Expansion Kit will include a free download of an exclusive software from CineForm Studio.
The software will come in handy for photographers in editing their captured photos and videos. Converting 2D into 3D H.264 footages will also be a breeze since it will enable files to be easily viewed on television or posted online such as YouTube.
The Expansion Kit can now be owned for only $99.99 at gopro.com. The camera, on the other hand, are sold separately at $259 each.
