Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock Controller Review

Posted on 11 June 2010 by pinoytutorial

Tired of playing those video games through those hard-hitting controllers? Then why not try playing the almost real thing. When I mean the almost real thing, you get to hit real life-size guitars. This is practically what the Guitar Hero series is talking about… playing the almost real thing!

The Guitar Hero is a series of musically inclined video games that first came out in 2005. It  was spread by Activision which featured guitar-shaped peripheral to produce a similar experience of playing a lead, bass guitar and rhythm guitar with the accompaniment of numerous rock music songs. The goal is to match notes shown on-screen to color fret buttons on the controller while strumming the controller at the right moment to score points. In 2008, Activision sped-up with the release of Guitar Hero World Tour which showcased multiple instruments. But now the same idea takes center stage again. This time with the innovation of the guitar with has a more sophisticated and exciting look.

Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock brings new 90 tracks and some additional game modes. It includes the biggest revving up controller design since the original title in its franchise history.

While the new Guitar Hero games has still the same buttons, the new wireless controllers for PSP, X-box and Wii have consolidated all of the electronics into the neck and fretboard making the body free from any nuisance. You can swap two guitar bodies very easily because they are attached to the fretboard in a two-part wing formation. For your information, the package consists of two guitar designs, the first one that is the standard controller while the second is a Gamestop-exclusive design which will be available if you preorder a purchase on Warriors of Rock.

Technically, there is not much that Activision can boast about. I believe its wireless capabilities allow you to connect it easily with your other toys, the additional songs are a plus and the beauty of it is beyond expression. But think of this, why spend so much on a simulation when you can have the almost-equally priced real lead guitar? And why buy these simulated guitars when you have the cheaper controllers? I don’t get the point why Activision thought of such a short-lived design controller!
