It was last February when we first heard that Valve is planning to reveal the third episode for Half-Life 2 which is expected to arrive “in the coming months”. However, everything changed when the company confirms it won’t be joining the E3 event recently held last week, giving fans the impression that Valve may have a change of heart for this project.

As of today, another rumor-mill has spiked out from nowhere, revealing that a Half-Life 3 title will be pushing through instead, in which the supposed third and fourth episode for HF2 will be a goner.
The origination of this report game from a valve fansite in which a member claims a story about this Mike Dussault guy, who happens to be a programmer and left Valve recently. This rogue guy was said to be the ‘head’ of creating HF2: Episode 3 and 4 a couple of years ago, and since the project was quashed, he decided to create Half-Life 3.
Naturally, many gamers are suspecting this story was simply fake, but it still managed to get viral, powerful enough to reach Valve’s boss Doug Lombardi stating this rumor-mill was only a hoax “fiction”, which means episode 3, episode 4 or Half-Life 3 belongs on the neverland again.
How we wish we can give you a release date, but for the meantime, it appears this ghost-game will remain a supernatural entitly for a longer period of time.
