Hitachi G-Drive: Price, Specs, Release Date and Review For The Thinnest Hard Drive!

Posted on 04 November 2010 by pinoytutorial

Hitachi has done it again! Just merely five months after it revealed the thinnest external hard drive in the world in the form of Travelstar Z7K320, the Japanese based company unveils its latest creation which is based from the newest G-technology to bring forth the SATA Hitachi G-Drive. Not only this external storage device is thinner than its predecessor it’s also very small and compact under its 2.5 inch hood. So just to set the specifications fair and square, the dimension of the G-drive are 128.6 mm (L) x 82 mm (W) by 9.9 mm (H). And it comes on a Hitachi Travelstar Z5K320 enclosure to give G-drive its much needed protection from shock and other external factors.

Here’s an excerpt coming from Mike Williams (VP, Hitachi GST)

“Our new G-DRIVE slim is yet another way that we’re making high quality storage more accessible and affordable for consumers,”.

So far, this sexy-beast features are nothing less than astounding. It has a 320GB storage, USB 2.0 connectivity and its whole sector is pre-formatted for Mac, although if you aren’t pleased with that reality, you can always reformat it with some windows-loving goodness. If you are interested, you can get the G-Drive today by pre-ordering it online on Hitachi or at Apple retail stores for 99.99USD.
