How to install Flash/Froyo On Nexus One?

Google officially launched its new Android 2.2 also tagged as Flash at the recent Google I/O 2010 developers’ conference. The new OS is said to be much better than the previous Android 2.1 being   up to 2-5 times faster. It is also expected to carry more exciting features and programs on your phone.  Google and HTC had said that Android phones released in 2001 will be getting an update into Android 2.2 but there is no released date for this.

Users should just be waiting for when this confirmed update will happen on their phones. The fact known is that the Google branded phone Nexus One will be the first one to be graced with this more powerful OS.  The update is now available via Over-the-Air download but will take some time. For Nexus One users who can’t wait anymore to have this Andoid 2.2 on their phone, you can update manually.

For you to be able to start downloading the Android 2.2 on your Nexus One, you will need an unlocked bootlander and root access on your phone. A patched recovery-RA-nexus-v1.5.3.img recovery is also needed in your phone. After all the pre requisites are made, you can start downloading by following these steps.

First, download the firmware Android 2.2 for your Nexus One by following this link.

Next, Copy the file in your microSD card via USB and rename it update.zip.

Third, turn off your phone

Then, as you power the phone back, hold on the VOLUME Down button.

The phone will start searching for files and you need to scroll down to recovery and press the power button.

Then, you will be seeing this /!symbol and press the Power button and volume up button at the same time.

A menu will be appearing and from there select “Apply sdcard:update.zip”.

As soon as you see “Install from sdcard complete”, select “reboot system now” and wait for your phone to power back up.

After all the steps, you will now be ready to use you Nexus One in its Android 2.2 set-up. You will be expecting for a faster device, automatic upgrading of apps and other added features.

    I was wondering if this is the latest version? I have seen FRF50, FRF72, FRF 80 just wondering and also if and how to receive updates after

    Also I tried and it said No Signature (411 files) and verification failed

    it keeps on failing to verify my stupid file!! what do i do to fix this probelm!
