Previously, we reported the new HP Elitebook laptops along with the 8760w and 8560w Sandy Bridge models. Anyway, just in case you feel those notebooks are a bit too big for you or their prices don’t fit on your budget, perhaps you may want to look at their smallest brother, the HP Elitebook 8460w.

At first glance, you may judge this little fella as underpowered, but when you look at its specifications, it runs up to Core i7-2820QM CPU under the Intel QM67 Express chipset, AMD FirePro M3900 w/ 1GB DDR3 virtual memory for its GPU, all presented on its 14-inch LED-backlit HD display. Meanwhile, its RAM can be set up to 16GB of DDR3 1333MHz power, 750GB max SATA II / 320GB SED SATA II or up to 160GB if you want an SSD for its storage. Other goodies include, Blu-Ray Writer or an optional DVD Writer combo, 2 x USB 3.0 support, dual-microphone and HD webcam, 6-cell or 9-cell Li-On battery, and it comes preloaded with Windows 7 operating system (32/64 bit).
For its appearance, it will be using a diagonal display with an “all-new chiseled design”, along with a chrome-like finish on its keyboard. And you have the option to dock it with HP 90W or HP 120W when you are in a workplace.
The HP Elitebook 8460w “basic” customization package starts at 1,299 USD and its US release date will be on May.
