Ready for new line of sexiness from a Touchscreen? Meet HP Touchsmart TM2
I know this is not the 1st 2-in-one or shall I say convertible gadget you have seen (I believe Lenovo was the 1st to release such device. Though this is the fact I believe HP will not let us down. This gizmo is called a PC tablet though it’s more of a netbook to me that can turn into a PC tablet. The reason is a PC Tablet is a slate device that is equipped with a digital pen (stylus) and Touchscreen; this is the 1st tablet PC that has a physical keyboard. If you would examine the pictures you would say that I do make sense.
So much for the physical attributes let’s move on to what it can deliver and perform. HP has equipped Touchsmart TM2 with new features that most probably will be the 1st ever from any HP PC.
You can navigate on your TouchSmart TM2 with the stylus, your fingers and with the keyboard which ever you want, you have 3 options to choose from. It will be equipped with virtual sticky notes that you can post on your desktop (this is not so new to me).
It has games that will surely make your kids/niece or nephew to appreciate gadgets while enjoying and learning sea creatures with DigFish Dolphin in 3D.Other than games another 3D program included is BumpTop that would let you enjoy your desktop screen like it’s actually a real desk where your files or documents toss and bump from one another. It will also have Corel paint, Hulu and SnapFish.

For the processor you have an option to choose from these:
- Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 at 1.30GHz, 800MHz FSB
- Intel Core 2 Duo SU9600 at 1.60GHz, 800MHz FSB
Each processor is tagged with a graphics card
Basically this device from HP is made to be customized to meet your needs. Which is great right? You can have it your way! I think this is HP’s way to help their patrons save some dough at the same time have the perfect tablet pc in their hands.

This is such a cool laptop! especially for students, artists, & anyone who could use its specs. Any idea when this will hit the Philippine market?
This laptop convertible tablet is now available on ebay/amazon, you can order it at 950 usd and have it delivered to your location in PH. Just make sure you pay some extra fees for shipping/customs.
Its release date to Philippines, is currently unknown, but expect to see this one hanging on your favorite mall on Q1 this year. Don’t get your hopes too ups with this one, seeing this one sans the optical drive, is kind of moot in my opinion, you need to buy an external one to at least remedy the ‘lack’. Also, the price isn’t that your student’s laptop deal (45-50k php) is a little pain in your wallet. Considering its core-functionalities is what your good-ole laptop can do.
