Following with the streak of Gingerbread report we have for the past three days, starting from HTC Thunderbolt, Droid X / Droid 2 then to Samsung Galaxy S; it appears today, several Android websites are confirming that the release date of HTC Desire HD Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update will be on April.

If you’ve been following the breadcrumbs for any Gingerbread updates for this device, we reported last month that Incredible S, Desire Z and Desire HD is expected to receive the latest Android 2.3.3 upgrade this Spring. Fortuitously, French-based website SFR states that, Desire HD would be the lucky one to receive this update sooner on the early parts of April.
That also gives the possibility of other European countries and UK to have the chance on receiving Gingerbread on their Desire HD units next month. Then again, whatever the case may be, everyone should have received this upgrade before Spring ends.
Then again, now that this update has been hinted, it won’t be too long until XDA or other 3rd party developers grabbed a build for this. We’ve seen this happen always on other smartphone brands, haven’t we?
So do you think this update would include Desire HD users on UK aside from France only? Show us in your comments below.
