We had previously reported about the rumored Facebook handset months ago when various blogs sites posted details about it. Facebook, however, denied it by stating that they were not in the phone business. But what do we have here? Another set Facebook branded phone units hopping around! Will the social networking site deny it again?

According to tech sources, apparently Facebook has partnered with HTC to bring not one but 2 Facebook-branded smartphones. The news was first revealed by a reliable source (cityam.com) so there’s a high probability that we can see a real facebook phone sometime next month. The rumored HTC-Facebook handset will be running under a modified version of Android OS. It is also expected to carry Facebook’s official colors and branding (as it should).
As expected, the new facebook-branded phones will have several Facebook integration features. Users will be able to call and text message their friends easily. There’s also a possibility that other facebook functionalities like Facebook Chat, Events , Messages and Photo viewing will be seen in the handsets. Moreover, the handset’s home screen will display news feeds so that users will stay up to date with the world.
Some tech sites were claiming that Facebook is slowly leaning toward mobile versions of its site so this could be a great step to permanently cement its name as the biggest among social networking sites. If everything’s for real then expect to see these facebook smartphones on the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February. Though, still no hints about its price.
