Seeing a yet another hack for HTC HD2 isn’t the most surprising news you’ll ever read from this device. After seeing it being hacked to run WP7, its no wonder that some developers would certainly want to try and run Android on this device just to see the reaction of the green team. And that’s what you get today after Android 2.3 source code has been passed along the community of developers giving them the freedom to install this cookie-treat on any device of their choosing.

So apparently, XDA-Developer made a howdie fast custom ROM for the full Android 2.3.1 GRH55 Kernel MDJ S8.0 based from Nexus S and it’s now working for HTC HD2. If you will check its changelog, you can see that everything seems to work (3G / WiFi, Bluetooth, Audio 720p playback, phone) except for the camera, GPS, contact syncing and auto backlight. It’s currently under its early versions so you can expect more tweaks for this one but just in case you can’t wait anymore and you are getting too darn bored with the Windows Mobile 6.5 of infused on your HD2 for its entire existence. You can download it now get the full instructions here.
Just make sure you know what you’re doing because I must say, getting a vintage HTC HD2 isn’t so easy to obtain these days.
