So what do you get after you got hit by the Thunderbolt? Well, there goes this new HTC Stunning phone stated to be the company’s “first NFC handset” going to be available later this year.
While much of its details remain concealed, it’s said to run Android and its display will be under a 4-inch screen (probably touchscreen) and it will include homebrew apps to enhance its mobile payment feature.
For those who are unaware, Near-Field Communication (NFC) is the ability to use your phone to pay bills by simply ‘pointing’ it to a sensor device. Likewise, we first heard about this technology last year, followed by Google Wallet hinting its plans for mobile-payment applications on Android soon. So far, Samsung is the only Android company we’ve heard to release a phone with a built-in NFC chip so this Stunning handset will come as a flagship device for HTC.
According to this Chinese-based site, there’s a possibility this phone will be linked to UnionPay which happens to be China’s one and only bank card processor – supporting its mobile payment standard – letting customers use this phone on any POS machines of the company. Likewise, its price still remains a mystery whereas its release date is expected to hit next month.
