Ah yes! The tablet that acquired an instantaneous amount of buzz, because of its weird advertisement last week, has finally hit an announcement today. And boy it sure does sound good if you’re a Huawei Fan!
So the name is MediaPad, and as the company touts, this will be the world’s first Android 3.2 tablet under its 7-inch form factor. Yes I know, a 3.2? Basically, it’s similar with Android 3.1 but it’s custom-made to fit nitcely with 7-inch tablets contrary to its 10-inch size. Likewise, this makes me think how the previous Galaxy Tab of last year must have sucked today considering it’s still stuck on Froyo.
As for its specifications, it will pack a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm CPU, two cameras: a 5MP shooter w/ autofocus that supports full HD (1080p) video playback and can record 720p (HD) clips, along with its front-facing 1.3MP for video chats. Likewise, all will be displayed on its capacitive IPS touchpanel under its 10.55mm thick body – a bit chubbier than the iPad 2.

Other goodies include an 8GB internal storage, microSD slot that can be expanded, supports HSPA+ (14.4Mbps) 3G network, built-in GPS and HDMI port. Meanwhile, since it’s using the latest Honeycomb platform, expect this tablet to offer the full Android experience like social media apps (Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, etc); fully supports Adobe Flash Player 10.3 and the Android Market.
The dealbreaker? Price and release date still being concealed, along with the fact that Huawei Mediapad won’t have a WiFi-only model, only 3G on this announcement.
