A glimpse of Huawei S7 was first caught in March. It was then believed to be an upcoming Android tablet that will have the same rocky fate with other devices – it may or may not make it to the market. But now with its appearance at the recent Computex 2010 event, we’re quite confident that there’s a big chance of it to be a part of the company’s long list of products.
Huawei, one of the leaders in providing next-gen telecommunications network solutions for operators globally had just introduced several new products including Android smartphones in the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The company had paraded a long list of must have devices and one of which was the Smakit S7 Android tablet MID.
Huawei SmaKit S7 is sporting a 7 inch wide screen with a resolution of 800 x 480. It is also boosting a 1GHz MSM8250 Snapdragon processor and is to be run by Android 2.1. Other hard specifications for this device is not yet known, however during its display at the Qualcomms booth, it is spotted to have a volume rocker, internal speaker, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot, USB connector and a kickstand for watching multimedia.
The new tablet is surely one speedy and lightweight device considering that so far it is the tablet with the biggest display. It has a support for information sharing across screens to enable presenting same contents at the same time on computers, mobile phones as well as TV screens.
It also allows users to easily and quickly access local information, visit social networking sites and even to shop from online application stores. SmaKit S7 will also simply be integrated into a home use since it ca easily be connected with the home gateway, TV and Android handsets to meet users needs.
The new customized Android tablet and phones are reflecting the company’s long term investment that developed high end devices enabling operators to deliver enhanced and differentiated mobile devices said Kevin Tao, Huawei Device CEO.
The new devices including the SmaKit S7 will be made available in the third quarter of 2010 and is expected to support high-speed internet access which will be faster than any other existing 3G devices. However, pricing details and other specifications is not yet known. So better wait for further details about this amazing Android powered tablet.
