What IBM is proposing in the next five years may somewhat be torn off from science fiction movies like Star Trek or Babylon AD, but the video has a bit of a reality when mind reading computers are concerned. As far as the future goes for the most of us, it’s as bright as daylight and literally everything can happen within the next five years or so.
Advancement in technology has made the world smarter, closer and more precise and helping us do with our daily routine with ease, comfort and security at the same time. It is then safe to say that what Big Blue is forecasting in the future may be closer to reality than we expect it to be.
Think about mind reading computers: a simple computer able to detect specified users when they approach it and log in to their systems. And no, it is not some Jedi mind trick or magic in its purest form – it is technology at its best.
5 predictions in the next 5 years (Next 5 in 5) – this is what IBM is trying to reach out to all of us. And when we speak of IBM, there is nothing these guys can’t do. Kinetic energy will power homes, offices and cities; passwords and security measures will be replaced with voice recognition protocols, retina scan and the like; mind reading will no longer be a figment of the imagination but a part of everyday life; the elimination of digital divide and junk mail turning to priority mail. These may be predictions per say but sensing the advancement of science and the capability of man makes them creators what will become the future of humankind.
