The Greenpois0n iOS 4.1 jailbreak is obviously more user-friendly than Limera1n in terms of the interface. You have got to applaud the efforts of the developers on taking their time to release this jailbreak and were willing to delay their rock-solid ETA just to edit this jailbreak to work ala Limera1n bootrom exploit – so their SHAtter exploit would be remained untouched when Apple decides to make a hardware change in their next series of phone.
As you can see both Limera1n and Greenpois0n are now unpatchable and that only means we can all enjoy our jailbroken devices without having the thought of it being patched so soon by Big A.

You might be surprised that many newbies are still wondering how they are going to do that DFU thing on their gadget. Now they won’t. :D
Right now, the only imminent problems for the Greenpois0n is before you jailbreak it. You should be sure you have the latest iOS 4.1 platform for iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G and iOS 3.2.2 for iPad. By the way, you can also try to make some foolish experiment of trying to jailbreak your already jailbroken device by Limera1n, to Greenpois0n. The system can detect it and nothing much exciting will really happen.

I have used both Limera1n and tried Greenpois0n. I cannot say Greenpois0n is any easier infact Limera1n was much easier to put the device in DFU. After about 20 times seeing Greenpois0n’s “Try Again” message, I am beginning to feel as if I am playing lottery. I used Limera1n to free my iPhone4 – success on first try. Not the case when I tried for iPod touch 3G, so I tried Greenpois0n … neither worked for the iPod. BTW< I used XP machine to run both tools.
Anyone else been successful jailbreaking iPod Touch 3G 4.1???
Jailbroke my iphone 4 on limera1n first. Worked wonders. I waited for the official Greenpois0n seeing how i thought it would be much more sophisticated and efficient. Jailbroke it with the poison… one problem though. It seems this jailbreak messed up my network settings and now the phone (only when jailbroken with pois0n) can’t recognize any connection. UNLESS i go into plane mode and back again and then internet only lasts about 5 seconds and goes back to undetected. “cannot find cellular network data” AND YES, i have tried resetting the network settings… same thing, 5 seconds then boom. NADA. Im thinking of going back to limera1n where i can enjoy the my iFreedom lol. Im worried about limera1n future problems though…
Tried both new JBs on my itouch 3G 8 gig MC model, neither worked at all tried the both at least 30-40 times
Greenpois0n kept giving me retry errors when i know for a fact My itouch is going into DFU, and Limera1n
goes into dfu just fine but does nothing to my Itouch, it just resest it self back to normal. I think itouch 3G is actually incompatible at the moment or maybe its my blasted MC model. but ive read that alot of people are having problems with both JB. I wish Geohot and the dev team tested every single version out there before releasing it.
there is no such thing as an ipod touch 3g (8gb)!!!

there is only a 2g 8gb with a diff baseband

I’m having problems downloading Green Pois0n. It would give me the option to save but then it would quickly say download complete, in a millisecond. I searched my computer but there is no sign of the device anywhere. What’s going on?

i’m tring to jb my 3gs iphone with greenpois0n, i updated to the newest virsion 4.1
when i’m comming to the third step when you should still press home bottum insted of keep counting back it stops somewere around nine, and when i press jb it tells , after couple of seconds, to quit and retry
any knows something about this problem?
For the people having probs with the pois0n jb… DONT pay attention to the countdown. use you ears instead. Turn up the volume on you computer and hold the power+hold untill you hear a sound on your computer then let go of the power button and keep holding the home button till you hear another noise. then your phone will successfully b in DFU. That countdown is not correct because some iDevice take more or less time to enter dfu, and when you doit the way i said, then pois0n will automatically detect it’s in DFU mode and stop it’s foolish countdown.
i had some probs when i am done jailbreaking
i have an ipod touch 2g and i did good jailbreaking
but after i did jailbreak
it would always reboot itself and respring itself
i tryed restoreing and jailbreaking again but no change
i am waiting for limera1n to support 2g mc so i can see if it would help
i have now downgraded and used comex Jailbreakme via safari on ipod touch/iPhone
i have had NO problems with this one
and i think it was the most easy jailbreak in the world!!!
i tryed everyting and atm im restoring mt iPhone. greenpois0n keeps getting me the “TRY AGAIN” message and limera1n froze half way…
