Intel Core 2011 (2nd Generation) Processor: Price, Specs and Release Date Soon!

Intel will be starting off at CES this week in Vegas with a surprise through its announcement of its 2nd Generation of Intel Core processors which will be known as Intel core 2011 processors. This new core processor family will be composed of Sandy Bridge desktop and mobile core processors boasting 29 CPUs all in all.

The new generation of Intel core processors will focus on performance and graphic functionalities (now known as processor graphics). It will still have the familiar core series such as i3, i5 and i7 but obviously, everything under the hood was upgraded to catch the latest improvements in mobile and desktop technologies. For sure, many enthusiasts and geeks around the globe are awaiting for this release. Can’t wait to test how this beast works in overclock?

The Intel core 2011 processors will still be based on Intel’s 32nm microarchitecture. However, the main improvement is at the die level. Intel managed to combine the processor, memory controller and embedded graphics on a single chip. That means, less power consumption, smaller package and less heat. The only question is I guess, Will it have a much better performance than its predecessors?

Along with its seems ‘larger than life’ performance, the new generation of Intel core processors will have the following features:

  • Intel Quick Sync Video – faster video transcoding technology that claims to be 17x faster than previous integrated graphic card
  • Intel InTru 3D / Clear Video HD – Will handle all those 3D and HD content on your TV flawlessly.
  • WiDi 2.0 – which supports streaming of full HD multimedia

The next step is to watch gadget manufacturers utilizing Intel’s new core technology. We’ve already seen a couple of notebooks that are rumored to contain Sandy Bridge processor, right? Obviously, we’ll keep you posted for new details. So stay tuned.
