Intel may have earned its special place in the IT industry and today, it strengthens its presence in the business-class desktop PC industry as it launches the Intel vPro i5 processors.

The vPro chips are known as the 2nd generation Intel Core vPro processor family since they are variants of the Sandy Bridge Core processors launched last January. The Sandy Bridge chips, that includes integrated Intel HD graphics and Advanced Vector Extensions number crunching as well asTurboBoost 2.0 clock scaling, were affected by a SATA port bug on its Cougar Point chipset. The chipset has already been re-designed and re-shipped by Intel.
Other vPro features that business would certainly pay for include enhanced security features. With these chips and related chipsets, Intel also aims to bring in more technology not found in the previous vPro setups. Among these are the Anti-Theft Technology 3.0 Poison Pill and GPS capability, enforcing data encryption software authentication if a PC gets back from sleep and is not in any state the user expects it to be at. There is also the KVM remote control that allows the gives access to the company’s IT department to the monitor or screen display of a certain user or employee.
Another one of its banner feature is its capability to gain access to a certain computer even if it has already been turned off. With the Intel vPro processors, it is not just about the speed and other features that common users aim for. It provides businesses who give priority to security a more efficient platform in managing and protecting their businesses.
The price of the new vPro i5 processor hasn’t been confirmed yet. But, with its new additions, business who are determined to upgrade their security extensively will surely go for it.
