There’s a new jailbreak update for UltraSn0w users, especially for iPhone 3GS / 3G users. Here’s the news for iOS 4.2.1 Unlock UltraSn0w 1.2 for iPhone 3GS / 3G.

First, the bad news. There are consequences to updating to the 06.15.00 baseband rather than sticking to the 05.13.04 baseband. Here’s a quick list of those consequences:
- You will be stuck on 06.15, and there’s no hiding the baseband version from Big Brother Apple. Your Warranty is void and there’s no hiding it.
- No more ability to update when another baseband comes along when you get stuck on the 05.xx sequence.
- Starting with FW 4.2.1 if you have 06.15 on your iPhone you won’t ever be able to restore to stock firmware ever.
If you don’t need to update then DONT! Only do this if you need the unlocked phone and you’re stuck on 05.14 or 05.15, and you’re willing to assume the above risks.
Here’s the process:
1. Jailbreak your iPhone. Search online how.
2. Unlock your iPhone on any baseband using Ultrasn0w 1.2 from Cydia:
- Start “Cydia” on your iPhone.
- Touch on “Manage” tab on the bottom.
- Now touch on “Sources”
- Touch on “Edit”
- Touch on “Add”
- Type in “http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com”
- Touch on “Add Source”
- Cydia will automatically update your sources.
- After installation is completed, search for “ultrasn0w 1.2” in Cydia and install this app.
3. Restart your iPhone
That’s it. Now all you need to do is hope and pray that it will work. Good luck!
